Turkington, Madden visit A Safe Place Meg Hunter resigns
ASafe Place announced yesterday that Meg Hunter, executive director, has resigned from the agency effective June 30. "We are sorry to see Meg leave, but we understand her wish to pursue other endeavors," said Barbara Halsted, president of the Board of Directors.

Last Friday afternoon Cape and Islands Representative Eric Turkington and Nantucket's Legislative Liaison Tim Madden visited A Safe Place for discussions on its funding and programs with Hunter, board vice-president Michelle Langlois and the agency staff. "He has always been a supporter and advocate for agencies like A Safe Place," Hunter said of Turkington. "He seemed eager to help." Among topics discussed were the fact that A Safe Place has essentially been level-funded by the state for the last seven years, a difficult situation in light of the need to recruit and retain qualified staff
who face the high cost of island living. I |
