Preview Party: Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum The big draw this year is the miniature collection - a total of 168 miniature baskets, all by different artists. On loan from summer resident Nancy Tower Scott, it's known to be the largest miniature collection in existence.

The museum is also unveiling a wider range of related items than it has ever carried - including scrimshaw and antique carved ivory as well as Nantucket silver.

The preview party is a nice opportunity to get a peak before anyone else, but it's also a chance to meet some of the new faces at the museum, including new director Albert L'Etoile, administrative assistant Jeanne Campbell and the newly-minted youth program director (and veteran basket maker) Susan Atwood Daniels. When: Wed., May 23, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Where: Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum Cost: Free

Book signing: Charles Soule Author of the Nantucket-themed "In the Same Space" is signing his self-published title at Bookworks this Friday.

"In The Same Space" is Mr. Soule's first novel. It's set on Nantucket, where Jack Kendrick and his family have a vacation home. An investigation into drug trafficking leads to a mysterious death on the ferry - a crime in which Kendrick becomes the prime suspect. Meanwhile a terror plot unfolds in the Middle East. As Kendrick tries to prove his innocence, the threat of this plot moves ever closer to Boston, and Nantucket.

A Nantucket resident, Mr. Soule graduated from Dartmouth College and had a long career with the Paul Revere Insurance group, from which he retired as President and CEO in 1997. He and his wife, Elna, vacationed on Nantucket for years and have lived on the island since 1999.

The pair recorded the album on island during the second half of 2006 - Sunday marks the first time they will be sharing it with the public, via a performance and party at the Atheneum, where the CD will be on sale before being distributed to island stores. The Preservation Challenge: A family scavenger hunt and picnic May has been declared "Preservation Month" by the National Parks Service. Under the town's Historical Commission, The Nantucket Preservation Alliance, with the Nantucket Preservation Trust acting as chair, produced multiple community-wide free events. One of these events includes the upcoming Preservation Challenge Scavenger Hunt.

For the Challenge, Nantucketers and their families will compete as teams in the architectural history based scavenger hunt, produced by the Nantucket Preservation Trust in partnership with nonprofit organizations in the area of education and children's services. Town will act as the hunting field.

Clues for the hunt were crafted by a team of Preservation Scouts from New School & Boys & Girls Club; a dozen intrepid 5th grade kids who walked and studied with preservationists and historians during weekly after-school investigations around town. Annye's Whole Foods and Nucci's Italian Ice & Gelato have donated a picnic for everyone after the hunt, with awards given to everyone, courtesy of island businesses. Theatre Workshop of Nantucket opens Online ticketing TWN sold its first tickets via the Web last week. Paul Flynn of Nantucket was the ground breaker, purchasing tickets for two adult and two kids to attend the opening night of Oliver Diamond.

"I put it up and boom! Four families bought tickets online between midnight and 7 a.m. And we hadn't even promoted it yet!" said TWN Director Pam Murphy. "We're so glad to be able to offer this convenience. It was one of Jordy [Fleischut's] first priorities. … Most purchasers were from on island, but some are folks planning their summer vacation

and bought tickets in advance of other shows." I
