CHAMBER TO OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce will offer annual scholarship award(s) of up to $5,000 to one or more graduating seniors. To be eligible for the award, candidates must be Nantucket residents and have been accepted to any accredited school or college. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the institution the recipient(s) is attending.

Candidates shall submit an essay describing how their life experiences relate to the mission of the Chamber. The essay should focus on the candidate's specific involvement with community service and work experience; A resume that includes name, address, phone, any pertinent work or community service experiences with the name of the organization and length of service, and candidates association with any Chamber of Commerce member (if applicable); Name of the school or college candidate will be attending; Letters of recommendation shall also be accepted.

TOWN'S NEWWEB SITE The Town of Nantucket will launch its new Web site on May 22. Many new features will now be available to better serve the public. The new Web site will allow the town's staff to more easily update their individual department's information. As a result, information typically available only at the actual Town Offices will now be accessible to the public online. This is just the beginning for the Town of Nantucket's new Web site. In the near future, additional functions will continue to be added, keeping the town's commitment to providing the public with information that is both accurate and up to date.

Various board and committee minutes will be posted and will be easily accessible from the home page. There will also be a separate calendar for Council on Aging. New e-mail subscriber services will be available, allowing those interested to be able to enter their personal e-mail address and automatically receive any new notices that are posted to a variety of topics. The new Web site foundation will provide a number of additional services to residents, businesses and visitors

in the months ahead, including an intranet for town employees. I
