MILESTONES
Kelsey Fredericks, a freshman at Connecticut College, is a volunteer for the America Reads Challenge Elementary Tutorial. Fredericks volunteers through the Office of Volunteers for Community Service (OVCS) at Connecticut College. OVCS plays a key role in teaching students about community engagement and the best practices of participation. Fredericks, a 2006 graduate of Nantucket High School, is the daughter of Laura and David Fredericks of Nantucket.

Beau Hambleton, the son of Dana and Christine Hambleton of Nantucket, is enrolling at the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla. After graduation from Nantucket High School he will become a member of the Florida Tech 2007-2008 entering class pursuing a degree in Aviation Management.

Michael W. Waine, a 2002 graduate of Nantucket High School, graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington on December 16, 2006. In the fall, Michael will attend UNCW Graduate School as a Master of Science candidate in marine biology. His achievements have earned him an assistantship while pursuing his master's degree. Michael is the son of Dale and Maryanne Waine of Nantucket. BIRTHS

Nina Ella Budzynski was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on April 23, 2007 weighing 8 pounds and 14 ounces. She is the daughter of Ian and Ella Budzynski and sister of Mikolaj Caruso of Nantucket. Her grandparents are Teresa Tadeusz Bolocivch and Donata Piotr Budzynski of Poland.

Jesus Enrique Cardoza Ramirez was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on May 4, 2007. He is the son of Carolina Cardoza Ramirez and Walter Enrique Martinez of El Salvador. His grandparents are Vilma Nolasco, Carlos Nolasco and Adonay Cardoza of El Salvador and Nantucket.

Nicolly Isabelly Emilio was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on May 1, 2007 weighing 7 pounds and 2 ounces. She is the daughter of Luiz C. Emilio and Karina Malta Emilio and sister of Stephanny Emanuelly Emilio of Nantucket.

John Gabriel Gomes was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on April 29, 2007 weighing 6 pounds and 15 ounces. He is the son of Daniel De M. Gomes and Gelica S.G. Gomes of Nantucket. His grandparents are Manoel and Rosinete Gomes of Criciuma, Brazil. His greatgrandparents are Diace Galdino and Daura Sasso of Criciuma, Brazil.

Bryan Michel Mejia Guzman was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on April 15, 2007 weighing 6 pounds and 1 ounce. He is the son of Jose Mejia and Delmi Guzman Reyes of Nantucket. His grandparents are Raul Mejia, Marta Castellano, Humberto Reyes and Maria Del Carmen Guzman of El Salvador.
