If you've made a purchase at Bookworks lately, you my have noticed a little joke down at the bottom of your receipt, something to the effect of:

MARLI GUZZETTA/The Independent

How many mystery writers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?"

The joke is the work of one John Luttman (above) flaneur and joke teller extraordinaire. If you see John outside The Bean (one of his favorite haunts and site of this photo), ask him for a quick one-liner, or maybe try to stump him with your own.

(The answer is: "Two. One to turn it almost all the way in, and one to add a surprise twist at the end.")
