Ioan Gruffudd stars as William Wilberforce, the imperfect but inspired Englishman who led the charge to abolish slavery in his country. Albert Finney ("Big Fish," "Annie") plays John Newton, the slave ship captain-turned-preacher who wrote the now-famous spiritual torch song, "Amazing Grace," while Wilberforce carried the torch.

Fascinating filming techniques make it unlike any other war movie ever filmed. Starring Gerard Butler, who is much better in this film than he was in "Phantom of the Opera."
