CHRISTOPHER RAY EARNS EAGLE SCOUT RANK

Nantucket High School senior Christopher Ray was honored for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout during ceremonies at Camp Richard Saturday evening. With him are his mother, Ellen, scout leader Bert Johnson, and his father, Homer. Ray, who has been in the Boy Scouts since the year 2000, earned 22 merit badges to achieve the rank. The toughest one? First aid, he said. The Eagle Scout rank is the highest advancement in Scouting, and is earned by fulfilling requirements in the areas of leadership, service and outdoor skills.
