MADE A DIFFERENCE
To the editor:

Elder Services of Cape Cod & the Islands Inc. would like to take this opportunity to thank Town Administrator Libby Gibson and Selectmen Michael Kopko and Whitey Willauer for participating in our annual "Mayors for Meals" campaign. These town officials took time from their busy schedules to go out with our volunteers and deliver Meals on Wheels to appreciative members of the community. The "Mayors for Meals" campaign is designed to raise awareness about elder nutrition and the volunteer opportunities that exist. Volunteers are the backbone of our program and without such dedicated people our necessary programs and valuable community services like Meals on Wheels would not be possible. Last year, Elder Services served over 13, 000 meals on our island alone. Thank you to the Selectmen and Town Administrator for your help in bringing attention to the fact that there are thousands of senior citizens in this country who are going hungry each and every day, and that together we can make a difference.
