Miacomets skate for the fun of it

      School nurse Meg Roberts didn't get the chance to skate much growing up on Nantucket, so when Nantucket Ice opened several years ago she decided to give it another shot. "I was trying to learn how to ice skate and was falling down all the time," she recalls.

Boys, girls earn top seeds Boys defeat CCA by 30 points, play today at home

      Employing the formula that has worked so well all year - namely, hitting the boards and playing tenacious D - the Whaler boys advanced to the quarterfinal round of the South Sectional basketball tournament Monday afternoon. The third-ranked Whalers defeated 14th seed Cape Cod Academy, 71-41.

      The Nantucket Nor'Easters Mites won the Cape Cod League championship over Martha's Vineyard on February 19. The team, composed of skaters aged 6 to 9, posed last week with the championship trophy.
