Tristam C. Dammin MD
Jacob Matthew Holdgate was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on Feb. 15, 2007 weighing 6 pounds and 14 ounces. He is the son of James D. Holdgate and Nicole L. Wynne of Nantucket. His grandparents are Sarah Holdgate, Bruce Holdgate, and Christopher and Stacie Perry, all of Nantucket. His great-grandparents are Dick and Jean Freed, Lindsey R. Perry, the late Katherine and Francis "Andy" Lynch, the late Allen and Alma Holdgate and the late Barbara Hobson of Coco Beach, Fla., Nantucket and Boca Raton, Fla.

ACHIEVEMENT TTristam C. Dammin MD of Nantucket and Boston, has been honored as one of the top Emergency Medicine Physicians in 2006 by the Consumer's Research Council of America. He has recently retired from the Lahey Clinic after 25 years on the Emergency Service.

Dr. Dammin completed his studies at the University of Virginia Medical School and St. Mary's Hospital in London, England; at St. Mary's Hospital Dr. Dammin was on the tennis "Six," played first doubles with JPR Williams, a Junior Wimbledon champion, and toured Devon and Cornwall with the team. He also competed with the London Hospital Sailing team and raced in Cowes Week with the Royal Yacht Squandron on a Dragon.

Dr. Dammin's interests have included vehicular trauma and infectious disease; he is an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and in Emergency Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. In addition, he has received the Tufts Medical School Third Year award for "Best Teacher in Medicine" at the Lahey Clinc campus.

Dr. Dammin, an eleventh generation Nantucketer, and his family enjoy the island in winter and the rest of the Archipelago in Summer.
