"Him, Her, Him Again,
The End of Him"
by Patricia Marx
This novel chronicles the storyteller's life and obsession with a man she meets while attending graduate school in Cambridge, England. The man in question is a complete cad: cheating, marrying, cheating some more, disappearing, reappearing and generally treating her like the willing doormat that she is. We have all had relationships like this one at some point in our lives, which is why some of the passages made me laugh out loud with recognition while others brought back the sting of rejection. The beauty of this book is in the voice of the "heroine," who is so neurotic and so funny that reading this book makes you feel like you are chatting with a good friend (one you feel like slapping some sense into). If you liked "Encyclopedia of An Ordinary Life" by Amy Krouse Rosenthal or "Why Did I Ever?" by Mary Robison, this book is for you.

"The Departed"
(Rated R for strong brutal violence,
pervasive language, some strong sexual
content and drug material.)
An all-star cast led by veteran director Martin Scorsese delivers a cinematic masterpiece with a new twist on the classic gangster film. When two cops on opposite sides of the law go undercover within the Massachusetts State Police Department and the Irish Mafia, tension and intrigue ensue as the moles race to uncover each other's identities. Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio are excellent as the police officers at the center of the drama, while Jack Nicholson steals the show as the Irish mob boss. Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen and Alec Baldwin also shine in the best Scorsese film since "Goodfellas." Don't miss this one.

"Infamous"
(Rated R for language, violence
and some sexuality.)
This film contains pretty much the same story as "Capote," but with a different interpretation. Toby Jones' performance makes it worth seeing, and Sandra Bullock shines as Nelle Harper Lee.
