Dolphins beat Marshfield at last; set three new records
In what coach Jim Pignato called "one of the most exciting meets" in which he's been involved, the Dolphins outswam Marshfield Sunday, racking up 546 total points to Marshfield's 491. It was the Dolphins' first victory over Marshfield since 1995.

"Marshfield is a powerhouse in our league," Pignato said. "We were able to pull out a win by doing the little things correctly. In all the close races, we gained the advantage with good starts, turns and finishes."

The Dolphins turned in three record-breaking performances in the meet, with the team of Olivia Rand, Sumner LeBaron-Brien, Sophie Davies and Ashley Wilson setting new record times in both the 100 yard medley relay (1:07.92) and the 200 yard freestyle relay (2:11.44). Ainsley Ellis set a new record in the girls' 15 and over 50-yard backstroke with a time of 30.58.

Overall, the Dolphins took 49 first place finishes in the meet. (The complete list of first place finishes will appear in next week's Independent.)

The Dolphins will host the championship meet March 10, featuring Marshfield, Sandwich and
