Great Harbor asks board for clarification on conditions It also seeks compliance deadlines for all the modifications to its special permit. Because the proposed club's special permit has been appealed so frequently, and has so many conditions that overlap, Great Harbor's island attorney Sarah Alger came to the Feb. 12 Planning Board meeting trying to get a clearer picture of what is due when. To do this, Alger read scores of conditions into the record so the board could then get back to her on when all the conditions must be complied with and which already have been met. "It was really a simple matter of housekeeping," Alger said. "With each modification, the conditions have changed. The goal is to get some clarity around what we were supposed to do and when. Goal number two was to correct the plan so the drainage structures are shown in the right place." Alger said that Great Harbor is already at work on the club's infrastructure, including its drainage pipes and catch basins. Operating on an order of conditions from the Conservation Commission, Great Harbor installed elements of the drainage system to where it could under the ConCom permit, but then realized it needed Planning Board approval to change the location of part of that system. "It's not surprising that we would be coming in for these sorts of changes because the decision was very complicated," said Alger. "Once you start working with them, you realize certain things don't work or other things work better or things change." The board approved this change 5-0 and continued the hearing on Great Harbor's conditions question to its Feb. 26 meeting. I |
