Pool of election candidates growing Reinhard, Atherton, Mahon, Richen and Roggeveen plan to run for two selectmen seats
BY MARY LANCASTER
Six people are now vying for two open selectmen seats with yesterday's addition of Allen Reinhard. Last week, Rick Atherton, Gene Mahon, Neville Richen and Patty Roggeveen joined David Gray in the race. Gray was the first candidate to take out nomination papers for the April 3 elections. Contenders have until 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12 to submit a minimum of 40 signatures from registered voters to the Town Clerk's office.

As of yesterday, Gray and Richen had already returned their forms, as had John McLaughlin, a Historic District Commission incumbent seeking another term, and Deborah Timmermann, also running for the HDC. Incumbent Linda Williams is another candidate in that race. Catherine Stover is up for her fourth term as Town Clerk and Jenny Garneau is running for School Committee.

Planning Board chairman Donald Visco seeks another term and Nat Lowell is also running for Planning Board. John Pearl has returned papers for a seat on the 'Sconset Water Commission and Noreen "Nonie" Slavitz, an incumbent on the Wannacomet Water Commission, is running again.

Peter Kyburg is running for a slot on the Land Bank Commission, along with Steve McCluskey and Robert Gardner, who have already returned their papers. Sarah Alger is running again for Town Meeting moderator. Categories still without candidates are: HDC Associate, Nantucket Housing Authority and the Shellfish and Harbor Advisory Board.
