Following a fairly quiet New Year's weekend the District Court docket began filling to a more normal volume with several cases that had been carried over from last year and a few new arraignments. Because weather prevented a judge and assistant district attorney from getting to the island Monday, most cases were continued.

An arraignment not included on the docket was held late morning for Patricia Newell, 47, of 41R Essex Road who was charged on Jan. 6 with assault to murder. She was released on $1,000 cash bail until her pre-trial hearing Feb. 26. During the interim she must continue a treatment program in which she is already enrolled and notice of her release from that program must be provided to the police prosecutor. She must also stay away from her victim as long as court orders are in effect.

In other court news, Michael Benjamin, 23, of 22 Arlington St. had his case continued to Jan. 16. He was charged Aug. 23, 2006 with destruction of property and disorderly conduct.

The case against Daniel J. Delaney, 36, of 5 Daffodil Lane, was continued to Jan. 29. He was charged Dec. 8, 2006 with driving under the influence of alcohol and number plate and marked lanes violations.

Magnovaldo Dos Reis, 33, of Waltham, Mass., will have a Jan. 7 charge of driving without a license dismissed with $100 court costs. He was found not responsible for a lights violation.

A warrant was to issue at 4 p.m. for Cristina Fahey, 38, of 49 Pleasant St., charged Oct. 17, 2006 with driving an unregistered vehicle with a suspended license and not meeting vehicle safety standards.

Donald A. Garnett, 48, of 5 Beaver St., had a probation violation notice withdrawn and his probation was terminated.

Awarrant was to issue at 4 p.m. for Jared K. Hall, 28, of 60R Hummock Pond Road, charged Nov. 26, 2006 with driving with a suspended license and a lights violation.

Cesar C. Hernandez, 36, of 4 Cedar Circle, will have a Jan. 4 charge of driving without a license dismissed with $100 court costs.

John Hilmer, 23, of 2 New St., had his case continued to Jan. 22. He was charged March 25, 2006 with assault and battery on a police officer and on Dec. 1, 2006 with driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to drive in the right lane and driving without a license in his possession.

Adam Jenkins, 17, of 51 Miacomet Avenue, had his cases continued to Jan. 29. He is scheduled for probation violation hearings stemming from five Dec. 13, 2006 charges of breaking and entering a building in the daytime with intent to commit a felony.

Edward L. Jenkins, 46, of 51 Miacomet Avenue, will have a Dec. 19, 2006 charge of driving with a suspended license dismissed with $100 court costs.

Prudence M. Jube, of Nantucket, had her case continued to Jan. 29. She was charged early last year with check larceny, forgery and uttering and driving with a suspended license.

Michael A. Kittila, 17, of 9 Pine Grove Lane, had his case continued to Jan. 29. He is a co-defendant with Adam Jenkins in the Dec. 13, 2006 charges of felony breaking and entering in the daytime.

Cody M. LaFerriere, 20, of New Jersey, had his case dismissed and closed. He was charged July 9, 2006 with drug possession.

Cain U. Mancia, 42, of 73 Old South Road, had his case continued to Jan. 29. He was charged Jan. 7 with assault and battery.

Evan D. Marley, 39, of 5 Eagle Way, had his case continued to Jan. 22. He was charged Jan. 6 with driving under the influence of alcohol, third offense, failing to stop or yield and speeding.

Raymond Martin, 46, of 77 Easton St., had his case continued to Jan. 29. He was charged Oct. 28, 2006 with leaving the scene of property damage.

David Marshall, of Nantucket, was released on $1,000 bail until his hearing Feb. 12. He is charged with receiving a stolen vehicle and driving without a license.

Michael T. Miller, 49, of 8 Meeting House Lane, had his case continued to Jan. 22. He was charged Sept. 4, 2006 with driving an uninsured, unregistered vehicle and abandoning a vehicle.

Stefano D. Molinaro, 56, of Florida, had his case continued to Jan. 22. He was charged Dec. 28, 2006 with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Patricia A. Moore, 33, of 1 Bailey Road, had her case dismissed and closed. She was charged Aug. 23, 2006 with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Robert J. Norris, 32, of 19B Pine Grove Lane, had his case continued to Feb. 12. He was charged Jan. 7 with driving without a license, failing to register a vehicle within 30 days and failing to wear a seat belt.

David S. Pike, 26, of New Bedford, Mass., had his case continued to Jan. 29. He was charged Dec. 19, 2006 with driving an uninsured vehicle with a suspended license and registration, failing to meet vehicle safety standards and various equipment violations.

Jason N. Schell, 30, of 2 Helen's Drive, had his case continued to Feb. 12. He was charged Dec. 22, 2006 with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

Robert M. Scribner, 25, of 14 Cedar Circle, had his case continued to Jan. 22. He was charged Jan. 6 with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

Rui Silva, 38, of Evergreen Way, will have a Jan. 4 charge of driving without a license dismissed with $100 court costs. He was found not responsible for not having an inspection sticker and a lights violation.

Raymond C. Symer, 19, of 5 Hull Lane, paid all due costs and had his case dismissed. He was charged Dec. 26, 2006 with driving without a license and number plate and marked lanes violations.

Roberto J. Tejada, 22, of 52 Cato Lane, had his case continued to Jan. 29. He was charged Oct. 8, 2006 with three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of leaving the scene after personal injury, assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless driving and leaving the scene after property damage.

Michael F. Walsh, 43, of Nantucket, had his case continued to Jan. 29. He was charged July 25, 2006 with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, destruction of property and negligent driving.

A warrant was to issue at 4 p.m. for Jason A. Yerby, 35, of 8 Kildeer Lane, charged on June 20, 2006 with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and disturbing

the peace. I
