I ON SELECTMEN
AT ITS MEETING ON JAN. 3, THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN (Stover absent)
+ Heard an update on the mid-island roundabout from Transportation Planner Mike Burns who said work is nearly done until final paving is laid in the spring with a goal to have all construction completed by Memorial Day.

+ Heard an announcement from the Nantucket Anglers Club of a two-day boating skills and seamanship course free to island youths 12 to 16 to be held Jan. 7 and Jan. 21.

+ Unanimously approved a request from Nantucket Preservation Trust for a preservation restriction on property at 4 Winter St., the Coffin School, to limit work that can be done to its exterior.

+ Unanimously approved the fee schedule for the Building Department.

+ Unanimously approved a revised fee schedule for Parks and Recreation that will provide funds to maintain its properties used for functions by various groups.

+ Heard a departmental overview report from Visitor Services.

+ Unanimously approved a citizen request for assent to a Land Court petition for 65 Hummock Pond Road as approved by County Commissioners last week.

+ Reviewed the board's meeting schedule for January through March.

+ Dissolved the Auto Limitations Study Committee and tabled dissolution of the Sewer Advisory Committee for one week.

+ Appointed Mike Mulcahy to a vacant seat on the Finance Committee.

+ Adopted the final draft of the Nantucket and Madaket Harbors Plan. The plan is now posted on the town's web site for public review and copies are available at the Atheneum and Marine department.

+ Announced that a letter has been drafted to be sent to the Department of Environmental Protection regarding Great Harbor Yacht Club's application for a Chapter 91 Waterways License.

+ Heard a suggestion from Selectman Bennett that the proposed Cape Wind wind farm be located off the south side of Tuckernuck, an alternative site from Nantucket Sound also proposed by the Minerals Management Service. Planning Director Andrew Vorce will represent islanders' views on the project at a meeting of the MMS today.

At a meeting yesterday morning the board reviewed a proposed letter to the Minerals Management Service and potential articles for the annual 2007 Town Meeting warrant.

+ Hear a town administrator's report on recommendations from the Traffic Safety Workgroup.

+ Hear a departmental overview from the Department of Public Works.

+ Take action on a recommendation for a sticker program from the Auto Limitations Study Committee.

+ Review a draft of annual 2007 Town Meeting warrant articles. + Review a proposed "Committee Experience" form. + Dissolve the Sewer Advisory Committee.
