I ON THE COURT Nantucket Court Report
In spite of the New Year’s holiday, there was just one case in Tuesday’s District Court involving a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Johnny Beans, 40, of 19 Cynthia Lane, was arraigned on Dec. 28, 2006 charges of possession of cocaine, negligent driving, failing to stop for police, failing to have an inspection sticker, failing to yield and speeding. His case was continued to Jan. 16.

An Oct. 31, 2006 charge of driving an uninsured vehicle was dismissed against Stephen D. Bedient, 44, of 51 Hooper Farm Road, who paid all due court costs.

Rohan A. Black, 23, of 107 Hummock Pond Road, had his case continued to Jan. 29. He was charged Dec. 26, 2006 with driving with a suspended license and failing to signal or wear a seat belt.

Claude L. Booth, of Nantucket, who was arrested Saturday on a warrant for outstanding court costs, was allowed to go free after the judge determined that his two days in jail was equal payment in lieu of the $150 he owed from a prior case.

Miles P. Coleman, 18, of 119 Hummock Pond Road, had his case dismissed after paying due court costs. He was charged Oct. 31, 2006 with driving without a license.

Donald Cook, 38, of 12 Scott’s Way, had his case continued to Feb. 13. He was charged Dec. 28, 2006 with assault and battery.

Taylor R. Cullen, 24, of 51B Centre St., had her case continued to Jan. 22. She was charged Dec. 31, 2006 with driving with a suspended license, an equipment violation and failing to register a vehicle within 30 days.

Ali Kalkan, 41, of 72 Union St., had his arraignment continued to Jan. 22 when a Turkish interpretor will be available. He was charged Jan. 1 with assault and battery.

Simon S. Landman, 28, of 6 Squam Road, will have his case dismissed with payment of $100 court costs. He was charged Dec. 30, 2006 with disorderly conduct.

Robertas Mickus, 24, of 16 Bluebird Lane, had his case continued to Jan. 30. He was charged Dec. 31, 2006 with driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense, an equipment violation and failing to wear a seat belt.

Jason N. Schell, 30, of 2 Helen’s Drive, had his case continued to Jan. 8. He was charged Dec. 22, 2006 with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

Raymond C. Symer, Jr., 19, of 5 Hull Lane, will have his case dismissed with payment of $100 court costs. He was charged Dec. 26, 2006 with driving without a license, a number plate violation and driving outside marked lanes.
