• Unanimously approved a citizen request for assent to a Land Court petition for 65 Hummock Pond Road.

CONVENING AS THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN, MEMBERS:
• Tabled proclaiming Jan. 2 to 9 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Week to obtain further information.
• Received a preliminary draft estuaries report to be reviewed by an ad hoc work group.
• Announced that public comments to the board are welcome with regard to the Great Harbor Yacht Club application for a Chapter 91 Waterways License. The deadline for comments is Jan. 9.
• Voted 3 - 1 (Chadwick opposed) to allow an extension of the pouring licenses for the Bamboo Supper Club and Water Street Restaurant from 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. on New Year’s Eve.
• Unanimously approved a request from Nantucket Preservation Trust for a preservation restriction at 9 New Mill St.
• Unanimously approved a request from Great Harbor Yacht Club to allow stormwater drainage structures and improvements to be installed on town property abutting its property on Washington Street Extension.
• Voted unanimously to have Town Counsel file an objection to a pier on town-owned property along Hither Creek with the Department of Environmental Protection.

• Voted unanimously to have a memo sent to town boards asking if they want selectmen’s liaisons chosen for their committees and commissions.
• Chose three of four Sewer Advisory Committee recommendations for action. They are: 1. for the Planning and DPW directors to prepare a final draft of a criteria checklist for the selectmen’s adoption; 2. for the DPW director to present a prioritized list of needs areas; and 3. for the DPW director to offer a baseline number of sewer connections as of July 2004, the number of potential new connections during the design life of the Surfside Wastewater Treatment Plant and average number of annual connections.
• Unanimously approved the town administration’s recommendations for the FY08 general fund and solid waste and sewer enterprise fund budgets.
AT ITS MEETING TONIGHT, JAN. 3, THE SELECTMEN WILL:
• Hear an update on the mid-island roundabout from Transportation Planner Mike Burns.

• Hear an announcement from the Nantucket Anglers Club of a two-day boating skills and seamanship course free to island youths 12 to 16 to be held Jan. 7 and Jan. 21.
• Hear a request from Nantucket Preservation Trust for a preservation restriction on property at 4 Winter St., the Coffin School.
• Hear a Building Department request for confirmation of its fee schedule. • Hear a request from Parks and Recreation for action on its revised fee schedule. • Hear a departmental overview report from Visitor Services.
• Hear a citizen request for board assent to a Land Court petition for 65 Hummock Pond Road as approved by County Commissioners last week.
• Review the board’s meeting schedule for January through March. • Dissolve the Auto Limitations Study Committee and Sewer Advisory Committee. • Make an appointment to a vacant seat on the Finance Committee. • Adopt the final draft of the Nantucket and Madaket Harbors Plan.
