Not only did the retired carpenter build his own house with a fully equipped attached workshop, he built nearly every piece of furniture in the house from scrap wood he collected from dumpsters and uses his refuse from that to heat his home and workshop.

Nantucket Court Report
      In an unusually brief District Court session on Monday, the probation for Dewane S. Barker was terminated. Barker, 28, of 107 Hummock Pond Road, was charged Aug. 25, 2006 with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Constable held by feds without bail
      Despite a family offer of $4.5 million in surety, a federal court judge ruled last Friday that William H. Constable of Nantucket, charged with child pornography, be held without bail for the foreseeable future. Constable, 53, was first arrested in Barnstable on Oct. 20 when hotel employees found a camera belonging to him containing images of sex with children.

Odd Fellows to install new officers
      The impressive great hall of the Nantucket Odd Fellows Lodge will be filled with members and guests on Saturday, Nov. 10 when the organization's state representatives arrive to install several new officers of the local branch and charge them with their obligations for the upcoming year.

Murillo of Nantucket. His grandparents are John and Donna Davey of Clyde, N.Y. and Cristobal and the late Maria Murillo of Clyde, N.Y. and El Salvador.
