Awards in historic preservation and history were presented to Alden Gifford, Jr., Richard Friedman, Mayor Thomas M. Menino, and Nathanial Philbrick. Proceeds from the Boston History Award Gala benefit the programs, services, and collections of The Bostonian Society including operation of Boston's historic Old State House.
