VIEWED WITH CONTEMPT
      To the editor: Recently, N Magazine carried a report on a fancy dress party held on Tuckernuck Island, as though Tuckernuck is today's Newport East. The depiction is completely contrary to the laid back, quiet and otherwise peaceful atmosphere Tuckernuck has always enjoyed. Most Tuckernuckers view this magazine spread with contempt and detestation.

AIRPORT RESPONDS
      To the editor: The Airport Commission stands by its representation at Town Meeting to keep Mr. Shaw in his house and to achieve a settlement of the lawsuit. There has been no stonewalling on the part of the Airport Commission despite the aggravated assault on its integrity that Mr. Shaw has seen fit to put in our local papers.

      To the editor: The recent Island Fair was a resounding success due to many island residents. The Park and Recreation Department staff, excellent volunteers, exceptional community organizations, and many other outstanding individuals gave of their time, talents, produce, and livestock to create a wonderful weekend of family fun.

AVOICE FOR SUMMER RESIDENTS
      To the editor: Summer residents have a voice - though not a vote - in the many issues confronting Nantucket. That voice is an official Town Committee, ACNVT. The Advisory Committee of Nonvoting Taxpayers was established at the Annual Town Meeting in 1991.
