VOTE YES ON ARTICLE 1
      On Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the high school, our community will have the opportunity to determine that the Dreamland theatre will be there for generations to come. In the bargain, we have a chance to make a place for a community performing arts center, a home for the many arts organizations that are working out of church basements and cubicles in other peoples' lobbies.

      Voters should be concerned about heading down that same slippery slope as the Great Harbor Yacht Club-taking debacle with Article One potentially embroiling the town in a quagmire of protracted, expensive legal wrangling without any guarantee of success. VOTE YES ON ARTICLE 3
      Tomorrow night, a special town meeting will be held to consider three property articles. Article 3 is a request to purchase 10 and 12 Washington Street. This property was better known as Island Spirits liquor store and gas station. The current planned use for this property would be as a transportation hub for the NRTA.

VOTE NO ON ARTICLE 3
      Tomorrow night, at a hastily called Special Town Meeting, the voters of Nantucket will be asked to consider three articles that reflect special interest efforts to obtain favorable treatment outside the normal annual meeting guidelines. To say the least, this approach to local government should not be encouraged.
