      MAKING THE CONNECTION Planning Director Andrew Vorce said that the connection between the Pacific Bank and the new post office parking lot on Pleasant Street isn't officially open for use yet. Vorce said that both parties have agreed to sign an easement agreement, but that the new post office thruway will not open up until the easement is finalized.

      Last week's column discussed some political matters. The reaction was mixed. Some readers were delighted and some were dismayed. The comments ranged from "You aren't going to stop talking to Hawkeye, are you?" to, essentially, "It's good to see you back into politics, even if you are wrong about some things."       Lately, one of the topics for discussion on YACKon.com has been the decision by this fine newspaper to boost its circulation and offer the paper for free. Generally speaking, the response to this news has been quite positive.

DOO DILLIGENCE
      We may love our dogs, but no one loves stepping in dog poop. Dog feces contaminate all our open spaces - the beaches, the moors, the meandering dirt roads, the favored dog walks of Sanford Farm and Tuppancy Links. At any time, those who make the rules regarding these spaces can get fed up with the disrespect dog walkers show their properties and limit accessibility.
