To the editor: The Spring Down the House fundraising event on Saturday, April 29, at the Chanticleer and 'Sconset Casino brought the Small Friends' Building Dreams capital campaign out into the open! Small Friends on Nantucket is raising funds to build Nantucket's first LEED certified, environmentally responsible commercial building for its new home. More ... As the end of the school year approaches, I would like to share some of my thoughts about the progress we have made, as well as reflect on what I have learned as the leader of your public schools. Teacher certification has been a goal foremost in my mind since becoming superintendent last summer. At that time we had 29 teachers who were not certified. More ... |
