RAMPING IT DOWN
      When the Dreamland Theater was open, moviegoers in wheelchairs had a tough time getting into the building. Those using walkers, wheelchairs, crutches or who had walking impairments were relegated to using the building's side door on Oak Street. Because new principal owner Haim Zahavi is renovating the building, he is required to provide handicap access through all doors.

YACK on: People
      Iused to like people. Years ago I lived in the city and was able to tolerate large crowds. I could stand in line patiently. I could ride the subway and be jostled by smelly guys from Revere on a crowded trolley. For 10 years, living in downtown Boston, I bothered no one, and no one (except one person) bothered me. (The one person who did bother me did his bothering with a gun and a ski mask.

PET FOOD RECALL
      It's difficult to report "breaking news" in a column that is published weekly, but I will pass along the recent pet food recall information I have available before my deadline. On Saturday, as I made my way into the shop, I heard the first mention of the pet food recall in a brief newscast on the car radio.
