No candidates for SHAB seats Mahon, Visco do not return papers
      Races in the upcoming election lost candidates as of Monday's 5 p.m. deadline to turn in nomination papers when Gene Mahon did not submit his forms for selectman and Donald Visco failed to file for the Planning Board. Mahon had been a candidate for one of two open selectmen's seats along with Rick Atherton, Neville Richen, Patty Roggeveen and David Gray.

New Alabama Avenue fence angers property owner
      Millie's Cottage owner Charlie Ryan is feeling fenced in from 4,530 miles away in his Moscow, Russia flat. In response to the town erecting a split-rail fence at the north end of the driveway to his cottage at 343 Madaket Road to delineate Alabama Avenue, a public way, Ryan's attorney is preparing a letter to send to Marine Superintendent Dave Fronzuto asking that the fence be removed.

New post office-bank easement stalled over use issues
      Pleasant Street post office developer Al DeMarco told the Planning Board Monday night that he would not agree to an easement between his and Bank of America's property that allowed the bank a say in what tenants DeMarco leases to.
