THE POWER OF WORDS
Nantucket Grange #378 presented third graders at Nantucket Elementary School with free dictionaries yesterday, part of the National Grange "Words for Thirds" program. "It gives children a sense of pride when they have a dictionary to look up words on their own," noted Nantucket Grange president Doralee Nolan. "It promotes learning and helps mold their self-confidence and independence."
The National Grange is the country's oldest rural and agricultural organization that has
300,000 members in 37 states. It was formed on December 4, 1867.
