Capizzo also said that O'Mara has been nominated for the annual North-South All-Star Game to be played in July. The decision by the different league coaches is still to come. O'Mara and Whaler wide receiver Andriques Farmer tied for fifth place in eastern Mass. Division 4 scoring with 81 points. Farmer had 11 touchdowns and O'Mara 13. BRANNIGAN EARNS HALL OF FAME HONORS Michelle "Shelly" (Bougor) Brannigan was elected to the Saint Michael's College Athletics Hall of Fame on Sept. 15. She was one of six to be honored this year. Brannigan, a press release from the college noted, is arguably the greatest player in St. Michael's women's soccer history and is the program's all-time leader with 50 goals and 120 points. She led the Purple Knights in goals in each of her four seasons, including a rookie record 13 as a freshman in 1993, and a program record-tying 15 as a junior in 1996. Brannigan was among the NE-10's top-10 scorers all four seasons, finishing as high as second, and graduated holding nine program records. She is only the fifth women's soccer player to be inducted into the Saint Michael's Athletics Hall of Fame. Brannigan lives on Nantucket with her husband, Richard, head coach of the Nantucket High School boys' soccer team, and their three children. HOLIDAY ON ICE Nantucket Ice will hold a holiday skating exhibition and Christmas skate party this Sunday, Dec. 3, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event will include performances by Nantucket Ice students and the Island Waves Synchro-team, followed by skating for all with Santa and friends.
