I ON SELECTMEN
+ Unanimously approved the homebuyer's affirmative marketing and buyer's selection plan for Beach Plum Village. Language in the plan was reworded to specify that applicants for the development's affordable housing units must be Nantucket residents or, if currently residing elsewhere, must have been born on the island. + Held a public hearing to review applications for committee vacancies. Decisions on appointments are scheduled for Nov. 29. Liz Winship has applied to the Commission on Disability; John Braginton-Smith and Diane Holdgate have applied to serve on the Conservation Commission; and Cheryl Bartlett has applied to the Human Services Council. + Unanimously approved Verizon's request for pole locations on Sparks Avenue, Pleasant Street and Hummock Pond Road. + Unanimously approved Nantucket Electric Company's request to install cable across King Street. + Unanimously approved revisions to the island taxi code. The revisions will be reviewed by the Taxi Advisory Committee and specific language will be written for final approval and change to the code.
+ Unanimously tabled indefinitely taking action on real estate conveyance of a portion of Miller Lane until more information is received for review. + Unanimously approved an order of betterment for Old South Road sewer improvements. The project has already been put out for bids. Note: There will be no regular meeting of the selectmen tonight, Nov. 22, because of the Thanksgiving holiday. The board met briefly this morning to swear in the newly elected member and approve prior meeting minutes and warrants. On Nov. 29 the board will hear a presentation on utilizing gasification at the landfill.
