FROM THE HEART

Island photographer Frederick G. S. Clow was the lucky winner of a 2004 World Series baseball autographed by David Ortiz. The ball was

one of many items auctioned as a fundraiser in the memory of the late

Imette St. Guillen, the Boston native who was murdered in New York City last February. Clow, a friend of the St. Guillen family, was the high

bidder on the Ortiz ball. The money will be donated to Boston Latin School in Imette's name. This past summer Fred was hospitalized with rapid heart beat. Ironically, it was David Ortiz's doctor who treated Clow. Donations can be made to Imette St. Guillen, Boston Latin School Association, 101 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02199.

Fred Clow is a graduate of Boston English School.
