PROPERTY PROFILE Coldwell Banker Real Estate $1,725,000 Pine Forest Find
One amazing thing about Nantucket is the variation in the

natural landscape. There are sand plain grasslands, hardwood forests, rolling hills of scrub oak and bayberry, wetlands, salt marshes and, finally, large, wooded tracts dotted with black pine.

The latter is the setting for this week's featured home at Two Dooley Court. Just steps from the entrance to the dense state forest in the mid-island is this quiet, extremely well-maintained home. Here, you are more likely to see a deer than your neighbors if you step outside to check the mailbox. And the island's sunlight is filtered by the tops of pine and choke cherry and the wind is quelled by the dense woods surrounding the property. This is truly a peaceful place.

The home features a large, attached garage accessed by a stone driveway. One approaches the house via one of two gently curving, stone walkways which lead to the covered front porch. Visitors step up to the porch and walk past a small picture window and then a large bay window, which provide the view for the home's kitchen and dining rooms, respectively.

The entryway of the home leads to an inviting foyer and provides three paths that one can take through the dining area to the kitchen, straight ahead to the home's wide and comfortable living room, or up the central stairway to the second floor.

The dining room is decorated in cool royal blue, which contrasts nicely with the white trim and warm hardwood floors found throughout the first floor. Beyond that, you'll find yourself in the newly remodeled kitchen which features substantial oak cabinetry and cream-colored countertops. The floor of the kitchen is made of polished and sealed terra cotta tile. The appliances are topquality stainless steel.

The living room is anchored by a wonderful, raised brick hearth that just begs to be sat beside. The salmon walls and the large, reclaimed-timber mantelpiece provide a feeling of informality and comfort. This is a room you may never want to leave. The rear French doors lead to the mahogany deck beyond, which will give the living room a run for its money in the summer. The back deck is actually two spaces, one open to the air and ideal for barbecuing and entertaining, and a second screened-in space for those nights when you and your guests wish to remain outside, but do not want to extend the invitation to June bugs and mosquitoes.

Near the living room and entrance to the screen porch is the hallway to a large bedroom with an attached bath with new paint and tile work, plenty of closet space and even a small nook suitable for a home office. This south-oriented room gets wonderful sunlight most of the year.

Also on the first floor is a powder room and a washer/dryer area.

The second floor is completely renovated and opened up to make the most of the available living space. Climb the stairs and you find yourself in a magnificent, centrally located family room decorated with beadboard accents and neutral tones which allow the red oak flooring to shine. This room is perfect as a second TV area or gathering space for teens and their guests. (Any home with teens needs

two living rooms.) A full, shared bath is nearby that featuring a tub/shower combo as well as dual sinks and ample linen storage.

Also on the second floor are two very spacious bedrooms which act as bookends for the second story. The one to the right is decorated in periwinkle blue with white accents and the one on the left is a vision in aquamarine and white. Both bedrooms are cavernous, but do not echo, thanks to the wall-towall carpet in both.

This quiet, calming, like-new property nestled in the pine forests of the mid-island, and with dozens of attractive features, is offered at $1,725,000.
