Anna Carroll Houghton was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on Oct. 21, 2006 weighing 8 pounds. She is the daughter of James Robert Houghton and Alix Carroll Houghton of Nantucket. Her grandparents are Kevin and Linda Carroll of Bernard, Maine and Anthony and Isabel Houghton of Singer Island, Fla.

Kamilo Rivera was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on Oct. 13, 2006 weighing 9 pounds and 1 ounce. He is the son of Gesner Rivera and Alexandra Espinoza and brother of Kevin Rivera of Nantucket. His grandparents are Adelaida Espinoza, Cecilia Arce and Wilfrido Rivera of Heredia, Costa Rica. Angie Yassuri was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on Oct. 21, 2006 weighing 7 pounds and 3 ounces. She is the daughter of Jose Pena and Maria Elena Gonzalez Chacon of Nantucket. Her grandparents are Maria Antonia Chacon, Daniel Gonzalez, Maria Amalia Pena and Manuel Alvarenga of El Salvador.

ACHIEVEMENT

Christian F. Fleming, the son of Donna Wiley and Bradford Fleming of Nantucket, is among 18 students of Bates College in Lewiston, Maine participating in a fall semester program in China. The students study the Chinese language, Eastern and Western concepts of the self and society and China's economics while at Nanjing University. They will also visit the Great Wall and Forbidden City in Bejing, the port of Shanghai and the Yangtze River.
