WE LIKE IT WE LOVE IT
www.thehungersite.com (and its sister sites) We make the pick
This Website is not new; it has no edge to cut, but all things being equal, it remains, in my estimation* possibly the most efficient act of Web-based charity on the Internet, and since I am the editor of this section, I'm going to promote it. The Hunger Site (and its sister sites, the Breast Cancer Site, the Child Health Site, the Literacy Site, the Rainforest Site, and the Animal Rescue Site) use money from advertisers to make regular donations for every click the Website receives - i.e. 1.1 cups of staple food to people in underdeveloped countries (The Hunger Site), .8 bowls of pet food to shelter animals (The Animal Rescue Site) or 11.4 square feet of endangered rainforest to preservation (The Rainforest Site). Before I became a hardened soft news editor who returned to Google like a Skinner box mouse hitting a lever for food pellets, I set The Hunger Site as my homepage, and I made it my morning ritual to click the "Make a Donation" button for every site. I guess recommending this site to you is a way for me to assuage my guilt for not doing that lately.
*This may not be much as I still watch MTV reality shows, and I'm almost in my 30s.
