Edmund Ramos, 73, leaves behind loving family, friends
     Edmund J. Ramos, a master plumber, past Commander of the American Legion, member of many island clubs and beloved father to five children, died at Nantucket Cottage Hospital early Saturday morning, July 15, after a brief illness.

Loose hatch forces Cape Air emergency landing
     About 20 minutes into what is normally a routine flight from Boston to Nantucket on Monday, the pilot's hatch of a Cape Air plane suddenly blew wide open causing some panic among the passengers and forcing an emergency landing at the Hyannis airport.
